Cap Nuts DIN 917

Hexagon Cap Nuts are manufacturered to DIN 917 and have clean domed top which hides and protects the thread. The flats on this nut are also higher than other domed nuts making it easier to fasten, and less likely for the socket or spanner to slip off the nut during assembly. Cap Nuts are often chosen for there aesthetic apearance over DIN 1587 Acorn Nuts.

Most commonly used in conjunction with Bolts and Machine Screws, these products are used to hold fasteners in place, joining two or more parts together. We also offer Standard Hex Nuts.

Where are Cap Nuts Commonly Used?

DIN 917 Cap Nuts are commonly found in Playgrounds, Sports Equiptment and Furniture are are chosen because of their capped finish with smooth edges. These nuts will also protect the users from any exposed threads, hence their common appearance on public amenities. For sanitary and wash down areas, a Hygienic Cap Nut is used, which has the added benefit of having a seal to prevent water and bateria form seeping into the threads.
