Strain Relief Sealing Grommets IP67

Strain Relief Sealing Grommets provide a mechanical hold supporting the cable from being pulled through or twisted in place as well as providing an IP67 seal around the cable. This is achieved by being moulded in a two shot injection process. They are constructed using a flexible TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) to provide the seal around the cable as well as rigid Polypropylene for arms holding the cable and the round ring on the opposite face to give the grommet structure.

The Sealing Grommets can seal a wire to a rating of IP67 meaning it has passed the EN 60529 test. In plain English this is an industry standard test that proves the part allows a seal offering protection against being fully submerged in water for 30 minutes in a depth of up to one meter. Strain Relief Grommets are produced to cover most metric sized holes. They offer a temperature resistance of which is resistant to temperatures ranging from -40°C to +65°C, and are available in 4 colours:

Black – RAL9005
Light Grey – RAL7035
White – RAL9001
Red – RAL3000

The grommet should be installed in the panel first, and then can be perforated by inserting the cable into place, which causes the grommet to grip against the cable tightly and provide the seal. We recommend pushing through in the direction of the flat section first and then through the four strain relief arms second as the arms can grip and hold the cable in place during installation.
